The primary purpose of this page is to provide a forum for promoting progressive, liberal, democratic political activities. We will announce when groups in the northwoods of Wisconsin are holding a protest march, rally, picket, demonstration or strike. We will announce when public officials are holding public office hours. When there are issues that need public input we will ask local residents to make phone calls, send letters and/or emails to elected officials. We will announce when there is need to visit an elected official at their district office. Basic posting etiquette 1. This is a safe place for discussion. Please refrain from using profanity, defamatory, offensive or violent language. Content determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste or otherwise contrary to the purposes of this forum will not be posted. Trolling or posts designed to derail or throw civil discussion of topics off track will not be posted. Attacks on a specific group or any comments made to harass, threaten or abuse an individual will not be posted. Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation will not be posted. 2. Please fact check information before you submit post. 3. Sharing links and information regarding various political topics is encouraged, but please check links shared for veracity and that they do not contain sexually explicit content material, discussion of illegal activity, spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operations of other people's computers or mobile devices. 4. Solicitations or promotion of particular candidates will be subject to review. While we all have favorite candidates, please be considerate in your promotion. Instead of blanket praise of a candidate, please be specific on which of the candidate’s views you agree with and why. It is most productive to frame comments as part of a community discussion. 5. In some cases, people may not want photographs of them posted. Be aware that it is legal to photograph or videotape anything and anyone on any public property, and photos taken at events on public property can be shared freely. However, if you are concerned about being photographed, please talk to the photographer and our Facebook editor. If you have photos from an event on private property please be certain you have permission to post from everyone in the photo (even the people in the background!) and the host. We will open events on private property with a question regarding who does not wish to be photographed so that all can be considerate. 6. This site is not to be used with the intent to stalk an individual or collect private information without disclosure. While we do all we can to provide a safe place please be aware we cannot control everyone's FB privacy settings. Please be safe with personal information you disclose publicly.
