Interfaith Alliance of Iowa celebrates religious freedom by protecting the separation and integrity of religion and government, championing individual rights, uniting diverse voices to challenge extremism, and building civility in public life. We are the only statewide, non-partisan organization that provides a unified progressive voice with people of faith and no faith, ensuring balance in the public square. With the power of our collective voice we educate about and promote public policy that protects the critical boundary between religion and government so politics don’t infringe on your beliefs and matters of faith do not infringe on your freedoms. The Interfaith Alliance of Iowa Action Fund is at the statehouse throughout the legislative session working on key issues such as protecting public policy from the influence of religious extremism, strengthening the anti-bullying law, advocating for full funding of public schools, ensuring voting rights, safeguarding civil rights, and defending Iowa’s fair and impartial courts. In the chaos of today’s political arena, Interfaith Alliance of Iowa is a balancing voice of fairness and civility. We are the only statewide, non-partisan, progressive voice for people of faith and no faith protecting religious freedom, ensuring religion is not misused to discriminate, championing individual rights, and uniting diverse voices to challenge extremism. Civility is central to Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, our mission and work. We know it is imperative that civility remain squarely in the forefront of every project, every action, and every statement we make. We don’t always get it right, but work hard to get better each day.
