Campus Fossil Free Group We are calling on Whitman College to divest from the fossil fuel companies and reinvest our endowment in socially responsible funds. We are working to get Whitman divested from fossil fuels because we believe such action on behalf of Whitman College will not only be a sound decision for our institution’s financial portfolio and send a powerful message about where our school's values lie, but also for the well-being of its current and future graduating classes, who deserve the opportunity to graduate with a future not defined by climate chaos. The scale of climate change often stifles people’s hopes of making a difference. When faced with a challenge this large it is easy to fall into cynicism, we want to work together with Whitties to find an alternate way to cope with this challenge, a chance to be productive outside of their local endeavours.
