We Are Fresno/Somos Fresno is a grassroots movement that aims to advocate, protect and walk alongside our undocumented immigrant community in Fresno. We Are Fresno/Somos Fresno seeks to advocate, protect, and walk alongside the undocumented immigrant community in Fresno who for so long have been instrumental in helping our city foster. We acknowledge their contributions to our city and nation. We recognize the diversity of ethnicity, religions, and experiences that make up our undocumented community. They are an important fabric of Fresno's culture, economy and community. We believe that the City of Fresno can bring about clear and concrete policies that will demonstrate their commitment to the undocumented immigrant community. In this anti-immigrant political climate, words are not enough. Our current Fresno Police Immigration Policy is not enough. The movement that started on the footsteps of Fresno City Hall brought together Fresno residents from diverse social-class, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Our undocumented community is living in a time of uncertainty, isolation, and fear. The movement and our community’s reality have inspired many to get involved and work together to hold their city leaders accountable. We Are Fresno. Somos Fresno.
