Virago Coalition is a Los Angeles-based group of intersectional feminists committed to standing together to fight for human rights, community, inclusion, diversity and justice, both economic and social. We promote women's culture and contributions to society and amplify our voices and viewpoints. We stand against all forms of misogyny, whether by institutions, groups, or individuals. In addition to electoral and democratic processes, we use non-violent direct action, creative skills, community building to promote equality and justice in our civil, political, and economic institutions, media and the arts. We resist all efforts to reduce us to subordinate roles in either our public or private lives. Women have a stake in all aspects of society so we stand in solidarity with allies who are committed to resisting and fighting racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, transphobia, and all ideologies and movements that seek to institutionalize prejudice or inequity. We welcome everyone who shares the values of Virago Coalition.
