United Front: Families Resisting and Organizing Nonviolently Together is a grassroots response to the far right, white supremacist regime. United FRONT: Families Resisting and Organizing Nonviolently Together is a grassroots response to the rise of the far right-wing, white supremacist regime in our country. We are an all-volunteer, multicultural, multiracial group led by parents of young children committed to taking action in this historic moment. We are a political group that is deeply concerned about the rise of mainstreamed Nazi/White Supremacism in the government, and far right para-military militia movement(s). We will not become collaborators and will continue to resist peacefully and powerfully. We are explicitly committed to speaking out and taking action against fascism, white supremacy, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, islamophobia, anti-semitism, and racism using tactics of strategic nonviolence, civil resistance, organizing and political action. We are also explicitly committed to being a space that is accessible to families with young children, and to people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and levels of experience with political activism. Mission Statement United Front is committed to making democracy accessible for all and providing a family centered environment for speaking out and taking action for social justice. Vision Statement Every day lives are lost because of white supremacy, racial inequality, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, police violence, ableism, and an inadequate social system that fails to preserve the lives of all people. Thus, the core mission of the United F.R.O.N.T is protecting lives. To build resilient and just communities, our movement is intersectional, accessible, and inclusive. We are committed to creating a world that is fully accepting, a world without borders. We know that each of our liberation is tied to each other. If we are to be free we must be committed to the liberation of each of us. Importantly, centered in this movement are the people most impacted by inequitable policies and social systems. We thus focus on issues affecting people of color, immigrants, transgender people, homeless people, disabled people, and others facing multiple oppressions. United F.R.O.N.T. began with a small group of concerned and committed parents in when then candidate Donald Trump came to Eugene in May, 2016. Social justice activism and political organizing is often inaccessible to many people, including families with children, people with disabilities, and elders. We believe that we cannot create the world we envision without the participation of everybody, and we know that each individual has something to offer to our community and movement. And so, after the election, we regrouped to continue our work for the long term. We work toward our vision through: -Building analysis and education to understand and dismantle oppressive systems, unpack privilege, and fight fascism -Social justice, environmental, electoral, and policy campaigns -Centering, amplifying, and following the lead of oppressed voices -Building leadership committed to our vision of a just and equitable society -Making activism accessible to families by holding family-centered events and/or providing childcare -Building community -Making events, actions, and activism accessible to people of all abilities. -Honoring solidarity and cooperation with other groups and individuals working toward these goals We especially welcome everyone open and willing to change themselves first. To change our society for the better, true transformation begins in each one of our hearts, and is then carried out in action.
