Welcome to 'To Do List, An Indivisible Chapter' and thank you for joining! This grouped formed in the aftermath of the recent election of President-Elect Donald Trump, when a few friends took to Facebook to share their feelings. Our purpose is to connect women and their allies, from each and every beautifully diverse community, to share information, take action, and use our voice as a means to peacefully resist the impending Trump Administration. We have adopted the strategies found in the 'Indivisible Guide' in order to act locally and effectively keep pressure on our Members of Congress to ensure they represent our values and interests. This group is located in NYC. If you do not live in NYC, please feel free to join and post about actions you or your group take in your area. We can learn from each other! We must support each other to remain strong and focused. Over time, a feeling of 'normalcy' may set in. The election of a misogynist, KKK-endorsed demagogue to the Presidency is anything but normal in the United States of America in 2016. We have come too far to reverse the progress we have made. While it may seem hopeless, there are things we can do to mitigate the damage this administration will cause. The civil rights of women, members of the LGBTQ community, immigrants, people of color, and the poor and working class will most likely be under attack. Protecting our environment will most likely be of no concern. Healthcare may be stripped from 20 million Americans. Relationships with our allies around the world may be weakened. Of course, we must hope for the best; but as we do, we must prepare for the worst. This is where we start. This is how we do it. This is what it truly means to be American and use the rights afforded to us in our Constitution. Thank you for joining!
