We ask members wishing to post in this group to follow these guidelines: 1.) Campaign and candidate materials should not be posted on this site. A candidate is welcome, however, to announce their campaign or place a notice here of a campaign event. 2.) Town and Ward Chairs of the OCDC we invite you to submit meeting dates and caucus dates so that members of this group who may seek to find ways to get involved can know of such activities. 3.) Media articles about local races are encouraged to be posted, but duplicate posts will be removed. 4.) Discussion and debate about local races and issues are encouraged, but they must be conducted in a civil manner. Members who engage in negative attacks or personal insults will be removed from the group. 5.) Keep in mind this is a public group, anyone can join and see the posts of members. That is the point of this group to help spread information so sharing of items is encouraged and allowed. 6.) The Admin team will moderate posts and member requests with these guidelines in mind. 7.) To make sure all our members voices are heard and to keep from too many notifications we ask members refrain from posting more than once a day. We also ask you look for recent similar threads that your post might be more relevant to and add it as a comment. Thank you and we look forward to working together to help bring about a better community. Some examples of what is allowed and what isn't: Here is what is allowed in Udoc: 1.) Posts about rallies, fundraisers, or campaign events 2.) Posts from recognizable media outlets about races and campaigns if they are current and not regurgitation of past articles or already posted articles. 3.) Endorsements from organizations or articles about endorsements but they can not be posted from a campaign, it must be in a media article or released by the endorser thus it is verifiable. A photo of an endorsement letter though is allowed if it is from the organization. We don't allow individual endorsements that don't follow under that criteria mainly to keep our space from being cluttered with non-important content. Things that are not allowed: 1.) Press releases from the campaigns or posts from the campaigns social media pages not having to do with campaign and volunteer events. 2.) Opinion posts that are not attached to the approved list above. 3.) National media articles that have nothing to do with local races. If a candidate is not facing a primary we will allow direct posts from their campaigns as a way to help signal boost their message. Remember UDOC is an information hub to promote Democratic candidates, that is why it is created. There are plenty of other discussion groups on Facebook for other purposes. Older posts over 48 hours old that have over 100 comments on it may have commenting suspended to allow for newer posts to reach our members.
