NOW chapters focus on six priority issues including reproductive rights, ending sex discrimination/constitutional equality, promoting diversity and ending racism, economic justice, stopping violence against women, and LGBTQIA rights. Our chapter welcomes new members to help fight for women's rights on the local and national level. To ensure a portion of your membership dues funds grassroots organizing in Texas, please join through NOW Texas is the State organization of NOW. NOW is the oldest and largest women's rights organization in the United States. The purpose of NOW is to bring women into full equality in the mainstream of American society NOW. NOW is a multi-issue organization. Priority issues include abortion and reproductive rights, equal legal rights for women, especially the Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution, ending violence against women, lesbian rights and marriage equality, economic equity, diversity and ending racism. NOW in Texas has local chapters in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Montgomery County and a campus affiliates at UTSA and TAKUK.
