We are a group of progressive-minded citizens in Iron County, Michigan, who came together because of our concern for the current political climate. Our vision is to engage, inform, and educate the citizens in our community. PLATFORM (as of March 14, 2018): Platform – Rise UP Iron County Indivisible – 03/14/18: 1. Education • Equitable distribution of resources throughout public education • Support a strong public school system • Promote alternative and vocational education • Support financially attainable higher education for everyone 2. Environment • Support green jobs • Demand clean air, soil, and water for Flint and all of Michigan • Protect the Great Lakes and all of its watersheds • Encourage certified logging • Acknowledge our mining heritage and embrace our environmentally friendly future 3. Jobs and Economy • Livable wages in Iron County • Support Eco-tourism • Equitable distribution of infrastructure dollars in the State of Michigan • Job training • Expand agricultural opportunities 4. Healthcare • Single payer healthcare • Support recovery from substance abuse • Support reproductive rights 5. Civil Rights • Promote basic human rights including the right to clean water, food, shelter, warmth, education, healthcare and safety
