Resistance Napa Valley
We are a coalition of Indigenous people, LGBTQIAP+/Queer people, immigrants, and people of different genders, races, ethnicities and ideologies. Since 1933, the 20th of January immediately following every Presidential election in these United States has been predominantly consumed by the ritual that elevates the President- Elect of the United States to what is arguably the most powerful position on the Planet Earth. This year, that ritual will be centered on a man who has, with both word and deed, demonstrated utter contempt and disdain for a stunningly large share of the human beings that reside in the U.S., as well as for the environment, and countless numbers of the values and principles that the vast majority of those human beings overwhelmingly hold so dear. It is our belief that, on that day, as he ascends to the most powerful position on this planet,he will be transformed from an imminent to an existential threat to our very way of life. We have come together to mark that day with a ritual of our own, one very firmly underpinned by our strong desire to demonstrate our resolve and our uncompromising commitment to: protect and defend the civil and constitutional rights of all of our friends and neighbors; to stand in constant reminder that our shared values and principles will not be compromised, but shall endure, and; to shield the environment that we live in and all of the natural resources that we hold in common from harm or degradation. This begins what will most certainly be a need that must be persistently met and we will be dogged in our pursuit of that goal.Activity status unknown.
