Rally for Common Ground is a coalition building organization working to increase the impact of community efforts for justice, resilience, and stewardship. Rally for Common Ground is a bridge place for groups and individuals to activate and cross pollinate around work for Justice, Stewardship and Resilience. Rally For Common Ground’s launch event on January 21st, 2017 received ~4,000 participants from the Kailua-Kona Women's March with music, speakers, food, and 25 booths by local non-profit organizations and conscious vendors. Our second event, 'Defend The Sacred' on March 10th, 2017 in Hawi, North Kohala was organized in solidarity with the global call to action by Standing Rock and other indigenous leaders. Over 200 participants engaged in prayer, ceremony, music, speakers and booths offered by local non-profits as we celebrated and offered our support to all those rising up to protect mother earth and sacred sites. Our third event, 'People's Climate Movement, Kailua-Kona', will be at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona on April 29th, 2017 from 2-6pm. We will lead a march loop through downtown and offer a rally to follow featuring speakers, music, entertainment, booths, vendors and food. We feel a groundswell rising up. We invite you to join us as we discover and nurture our common goals and common ground. Rally for Common Ground is an ongoing opportunity to come together in LOVE and ACTION. We are in solidarity with local and national ADVOCACY and resistance movements. We aim to SUPPORT and BUILD coalitions between local organizations working to ensure a HEALTHY and INCLUSIVE future for Hawai‘i Island. We intend to UNIFY upon our common ground, RESIST threats to our rights, our communities, and our environment and PROMOTE efforts toward JUSTICE, RESILIENCE, and STEWARDSHIP.Activity status unknown.
