Protect Whatcom

https://www.facebook.com/groups/whatcomwatch/

This is a progressive page which supports environmental and democratic efforts in the upper Puget Sound region. The group was originally an offshoot of Whatcom Watch, an independent newspaper in Whatcom County, Washington, but in 2018, the newspaper disassociated from social media. The page administrator, Terry Wechsler, selected to maintain the page after discussion with members, in the belief that social discourse is vital to sustaining a democracy. This page enforces a specific comment policy that prohibits personal attack or harassment and other malicious remarks. The administrator deletes remarks considered inappropriate as well as commercial solicitations and duplicative posts. The Administrator may remove members whose posts violate these terms on more than one occasion, and requests to rejoin the group will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Sock puppets, attempts to discourage voting or political participation, and other trolling activity will be dealt with immediately.
