PPGP Votes educates & engages our grassroots network of supporters across AR, KS, MO and OK on issues relating to access to reproductive health care. Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes Mission: to encourage and protect informed individual choice regarding sexual and reproductive health care; to advocate public policies which allow and guarantee the right, knowledge and ability to exercise choice and gain full and nondiscriminatory access to reproductive health care; and to foster and preserve a social and political climate favorable to the exercise of private, informed decisions about reproductive and sexual health. Planned Parenthood Votes works in three areas: Education, Advocacy, and Elections Education: PPGP Votes educates and engages our grassroots network of over 100,000 supporters as well as supporters across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma on issues relating to women’s health and reproductive justice including: Public education through phone banks, mailings, door-to-door canvasses, house parties, and media. Engaging volunteers in communities and campuses across the affiliates to protect women’s health. Providing reliable research, resources and tools so you can stay informed, speak out, and make a difference. Advocacy: PPGPV lobbies our elected officials in Topeka, Jefferson City, D.C., and in their home districts. We work to advance legislation and public policies that support reproductive justice and healthy women and families including: Family planning services, such as birth control and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, for low-income women. Compassionate care for rape victims, including access to emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy after an assault. Access to birth control, women’s health care and comprehensive, medically-accurate sex education. Elections: PPGPV hosts a variety of Get-Out-The-Vote activities to make sure our voice is heard on election day. We also help candidates and elected officials talk about reproductive health issues.
