PARTY LINES: Communities Connecting and Calling for Change Concept: Each Person invites their network of friends and/or family to their homes, offices, coffee shops, gyms - for a 'party'. Upon entrance guests are given a script and database of senators to call, email and fax with the same messages. Each person at each event helps one another to feel comfortable on the phone, and party lines makes it less overwhelming and easy to call. Why: Calls to Senators can effect appointee confirmations, and policy repeals. Plus using your voice reminds you of your vote, your power, your very necessary and vital place in this democracy. The GOAL: Every single person who complains about Donald Trump, every single person who attended the Women's march, and every person who didn't vote for Trump, will reach out to every single person they know who wants change but says 'Really, what can I do?', and together we will encourage each other to rise up, call and take action in a measurable, positive, inspired way. Parties will take place in homes and offices in all 50 states throughout the country so the calls and emails to Senators will be overflowing and unstoppable, with messages that protect our civil liberties. . All guests at the events will take 10 minutes to call, fax and email their Senators with the same united message/script provided by Party Lines. All tools are provided by Party Lines to make it easy. Network is provided by you. Starting January 10th: Call your senators to say: No to Sessions, Pruitt and DeVos and No to repealing ACA. Making calls at an event designed just for this type of activism while connecting with your community inspires bigger change, and allows for support and encouragement at a time where it is easy to feel despair and isolation. Despair is not sorrow. Despair is quicksand. Let's help each other find the strength to use our voices to be heard, so the messages are loud and clear.
