NOW chapters focus on six priority issues including reproductive rights, ending sex discrimination/constitutional equality, promoting diversity and ending racism, economic justice, stopping violence against women, and LGBTQIA rights. Our chapter welcomes new members to help fight for women's rights on the local and national level. Monroe County, Indiana, chapter of the National Organization for Women. 2017 was our convening year. How Does Monroe County NOW Plan To Take Action? -Educating the public and media about the status of and threats to women's rights -Organizing rallies, protests, demonstrations and marches of all sizes -Protesting businesses that mistreat women and people of color -Lobbying for and writing laws that promote full equality for women -Supporting and electing feminist candidates at all levels of government -Working in coalition with progressive allies -------------------------------------- NOW's Top Six Priority Issues are: *Advancing Reproductive Freedom *Promoting Diversity & Ending Racism *Stopping Violence Against Women *Winning LGBTQ+ Rights *Achieving Constitutional Equality *Ensuring Economic Justice The Monroe County Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) is a multi-issue progressive organization that stands against all oppression.
