We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge & the confidence to participate in our government. The League of Women Voters was one of the first civic organizations in Mississippi to open its membership in the 1960's to all persons. The LWVJA, in both its values and practices, subscribe to the belief that diversity and pluralism are fundamental to the values it upholds and that this inclusiveness enhances the organization's ability to respond more effectively to changing conditions and needs.
