Welcome, and PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST. Indivisible Traverse City meets Sundays @ 10:00 a.m. The Workshop Brewing Company in Traverse City. We meet 1st and 3rd Sundays. Please see events calendar for changes due to Easter etc. Our group's facilitators are Lynne Van Ness, Gretchen Sawyer Iorio, Linda Pepper and Margaret Monsour. You may e-mail them at: communications@indivisibletraversecity.org Guidelines for use of Indivisible Traverse City group space: 1. members are free to collaborate on planning actions using this group. IF YOU WISH TO PUBLICIZE THAT THIS IS AN 'INDIVISIBLE TRAVERSE CITY' ACTION, you need to get approval from Indivisible Traverse City co-organizers*please give a few days notice if possible!* E-mail them at: communications@indivisibletraversecity.org 2. Members will be removed if they troll or harass others, at the discretion of the admins. Must be civil and respectful, even/especially if disagreements arise. 3. Please only add friends who have specifically asked to be added. It difficult on the admins to manage a large number of requests and have people added who have not made the conscious choice. *note: these guidelines were unanimously approved at the 3/19/17 Indivisible Traverse City regular meeting. Other useful information: YOU CAN REQUEST an appointment with GOP Congressman Jack Bergman: go to bergman.house.gov., select the services tab and go to meeting request. ACTION ITEM: Write a Letter to the Record-Eagle asking Jack Bergman to stop dodging his constituents. It's quick and easy here: https://www.record-eagle.com/…/online…/letter/letter_editor/ WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, here is a doc with a list of every newspaper in the 1st Congressional District (Bergman's district). Why not copy and paste the same letter to all the other papers too? https://drive.google.com/…/0BwzyyqIr9vxAUjNPLWJPa1dkW…/view… USEFUL READING: **Please get up to speed on what Indivisible is by 'liking' and 'following' Indivisible Guide's main Facebook page and reading the Indivisible Guide itself, available at this link: https://www.indivisibleguide.com ***Please be sure to read the below info about protests/demonstrations from the ACLU and if you can, print out a copy and keep it with you. There are differing reports floating around about Cong. Bergman's office not wanting to let people protest etc. We need to stay calm and clear on our rights. http://aclumich.org/…/Know%20Your%20Rights--Demonstrations%… *********Please If you haven't already subscribed to get a daily list of actions with helpful phone numbers and a brief of the issue, I recommend Rogan's List. It's put together by Susan Goodrich Rogan, a TC based retired university librarian. http://roganslist.blogspot.com/
