*The following description was unanimously adopted by INU on May 6, 2018: Indivisible Northshore United (INU) A chapter of the national Indivisible movement founded on January 20, 2017. We are a 100% volunteer grassroots community group. Belief: We are united in a belief that we must fight for our values, our neighbors and our nation. Mission: Indivisible Northshore United’s mission is to protect and revitalize our nation’s democratic institutions and progressive values and programs through grassroots political activism in our cities, parishes, judicial, state and federal legislative districts. Scope: We engage in activities to stop the Trump administration and Congressional followers from implementing regressive agenda. We empower progressive leadership through involvement in electoral campaigns at the federal, state, parish, and local levels. We support progressive initiatives and legislation. We encourage participation in the democratic process. We protect and strengthen our democratic institutions. We organize every day to make lasting change in our communities. Principles: In achieving our objective, we will model the values of inclusion, tolerance, truth, transparency and fairness. Defining our Values: We will be asking for feedback from our members to help publicly define our values and create a platform that will guide us.
