We are not in power, but we are not powerless. We are one nation, indivisible. Indivisible in the face of fear mongering, the culture of selfishness, and an assault on truth. We will actively pursue the defeat of legislation that undermines our core beliefs in what helps create a more perfect union and promote the general welfare of all people regardless of race, gender, gender identity, religion, age, health, social class, and economic status. We will fight: Gerrymandering Legislation that seeks to suppress voting rights Legislation that rolls back consumer protections enacted in the wake of the Great Recession Legislation that denies people the human dignity of basic healthcare Legislation that ignores the impact of human activity on climate change Legislation that rolls back environmental protections Legislation that seeks to divert funds from public education Legislation that seeks to dissolve the separation of church and state Legislation that undermines a healthy economy by giving regressive tax breaks to the wealthy Legislation that denies workers the right to organize. Legislation that reinforces existing biases in our criminal justice system We will seek and support candidates for public office who uphold our values, and will foster a welcoming environment locally for those who seek real choices at election time. We will strive to perform daily acts of political courage large and small for the benefit of the least of us, especially to ensure the blessings of liberty for our children. We are dependent upon – and accountable to – each other. We are Indivisible of Adams County, and we will make our voices heard.
