SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY & PRIVACY POLICY SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY * rev. 6/1/16 Thank you for being a fan of IFA’s social media channels. IFA participates in social media in order to engage individuals and organizations in protecting Indiana’s state forests. IFA provides content on social media to encourage participation with our science-based messages and discussion of forest preservation. Disclaimer: Posted comments and images do not necessarily represent the views of IFA. External, non-IFA links on this site do not constitute official endorsement on behalf of the IFA. While we encourage fans to share thoughts and opinions on IFA’s social media pages, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. IFA does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profiles. Therefore, a comment will be deleted if it contains: • Hate speech • Defamation to a person or people • Name calling and/or personal attacks • Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity • Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product • Comments that infringe on copyrights • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly • Other comments that the IFA’s social media team deems inappropriate. All links posted as comments on IFA posts will be reviewed and may be deleted. Repeated violations of the IFA comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from the IFA’s social media profiles. We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. We receive no funding from the state or federal government. We exist entirely because of the generous support of granting organizations and private citizens like you. Our page administrators (employees of IFA, not employees of Facebook) may, for the purpose of growing that support, contact you to invite you to become a member, or they may ask you for your contact information to keep you up-to-date on IFA’s latest efforts and upcoming events.
