Democracy Now! is a daily radio and televison alternative news magazine, broadcast on over 450 stations including on Pacifica Radio, NPR, community, and college radio stations; on public access, PBS, Free Speech TV, Link TV, DIRECTV and as a podcast and on the internet. Considered left of center and known for reporting on subjects not usually covered by the mainstream press. Democracy Now's popularity is founded in part on the tenacious approach of its award-winning journalist hosts, Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. Democracy Now! is an independent non-profit organisation. In June 2008, Paksitani journalist Ahmad Rashid, "long an apologist for Bush's war-on-terror" was interviewed on Democracy Now.
