The political will in the Catskill Mountains has, for too long, been held by self-serving nepotists, often with anti-intellectualist bent. Time for change. Published in 1776, Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. The plain language that Thomas Paine used spoke to the common people of America and was the first work to openly ask for independence from Great Britain. In similar fashion, this group page seeks to solicit in earnest the thoughts and ideas that will shape the future of the Catskill Mountain region, a place geographically isolated, economically hindered, environmentally sensitive, and overall a bastion of freedom for creative expression and most practical vocations. Feel free to share ideas. It's a forum for cultivating progressive ideals into actionable plans to change our family tree to a more prosperous and sustainable future for all.
