The Athens Conservancy is a nonprofitorganization of a type known as a land trust. Our mission is to protectnatural areas in Athens County, Ohio, and neighboring counties. We ownand manage nature preserves, acquired with the aid of grants anddonations, and we work with landowners to create conservationeasements. Other activities include controlling non-native invasive plants, supporting outdoor recreation, public-service mapping, planning for land management on both private and public levels, and public education.
