70 years of organizing in the streets, at the doors, on the ballot, and in office. Fighting for jobs, equality, families, and the environment. For over 70 years Americans for Democratic Action has been a leading voice in the fight for economic, social, and environmental justice. Here is Iowa we are headquartered in Waterloo and work throughout the state. Our goal is an economy that works for all, where everyone is guaranteed equal protection under the law, in an environment that is healthy and sustainable. Some of our top issues include living wages, working rights, fair trade, medicare for all, education, climate change, and civil rights. We organize rallies, educational events, and activist trainings throughout the year. We also engage in electoral work at the local, state, and federal level. This work includes recruiting and training candidates to run for office, educating candidates and elected officials on our issues, voter registration drives, educating voters on candidate positions, door knocking, phone banks, and voter turnout.
