350 KC is made up of ordinary Kansas Citians determined to preserve a livable climate. We work to stop tar sands pipelines, encourage institutions to divest from fossil fuel companies,build support for the federal government to put a price on carbon thatinternalizes the true costs of fossil fuels in the prices we pay andinspire people to embrace a rapid transition from dirty to cleanenergy The number 350 means climate safety: to preserve a livable planet,scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmospherefrom its current level of 400 parts per million to below 350 ppm. Webelieve that a global grassroots movement can hold our leadersaccountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice.That movement is rising from the bottom up all over the world, and isuniting to create the solutions that will ensure a better future forall.
