Marilyn Lucey

Marilyn Lucey

Marilyn is a longtime education advocate working locally, regionally and at the state level in California; her foci are early intervention, special education and education funding. The new socio-political landscape is a new national arena for her to utilize her knowledge and experience and extend her application of community building, stakeholder engagement, and large scale organizing skills. Marilyn believes we are stronger together and that when we work fluidly with each other, we can maximize the contributions of all groups. An area of particular interest and attention for Marilyn is the amplification of marginalized sectors of our society, development of leaders of color, from LGBTQ+ communities, and among disability advocates, and intentional allyship of such.  This work predates her involvement in this recent, wonderful resurgence of grassroots activism. She works as a special education advocate, and lives in the Tea Party toehold of the very blue San Francisco Bay Area, with her husband and two children.
