MASK (Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings) was established in 2015 as a way to put eyes on the streets, interrupt violence and crime, and teach children to grow up as friends rather than enemies. A group of caring individuals in the community began to simply hang out on the block, cook food, and emanate love. MASK is a force that empowers us to be the voice of change, safety, and presence for our families and communities. As individuals joined together, our many voices are amplified as one.

Chicago CRED (Creating Real Economic Destiny) was created in 2016 by Emerson Collective, a social impact organization founded and run by Laurene Powell Jobs, along with former U.S. Education Secretary and Chicago Public Schools CEO Arne Duncan. The National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) is a non-profit organization providing technical assistance, consulting, research, and organizational development in the fields of juvenile and criminal justice, youth development, and violence prevention. NICJR provides consultation, program development technical assistance and training to an array of organizations; including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and philanthropic foundations.
LIFE Camp incorporates best practice in youth violence prevention and intervention and tailors activities to fit the unique community ecology and culture in the neighborhoods we serve. According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, effective prevention of youth involvement in gangs includes: community mobilization, social intervention, opportunities for educational and vocational advancements, and organizational change. LIFE Camp, Inc. uses a unique and creative application of music/arts, film and service as a powerful vehicle to implement these strategies in communities with youth.
