ACTION (Allied Communities of Tulsa Inspiring Our Neighborhoods) is Tulsa's only broad-based organizing effort. Through our member institutions (congregations and non-profits), we teach the practical skills of public engagement to Tulsans. In so doing, ACTION aims to sustain a vibrant democratic culture in Tulsa, which builds the power necessary to effect change around issues that matter most to our families. Community Alliance of Oklahoma works to create thriving and prosperous communities for all in partnership with dynamic, innovative and revolutionary individuals, local, state and national organizations, and progressive movements. CAOK bridges the gap between individuals and organizations in a collective capacity to obtain and sustain human rights, dignity and justice.
The Oklahoma Progressive Network was founded in the buildup and wake of the 2016 Presidential election. A group of highly motivated activists came together to form an environment for Progressive Oklahomans to discuss, plan, and take civic action.
The United League for Social Action is a coalition of concerned Tulsans coming together to address racial profiling, over-policing, and police brutality. We are a grassroots coalition centered on evidence based organizing practices and group-centered leadership, as modeled by civil and human rights activist Ella Josephine Baker.
