The Public Health Justice Collective is a group of public health workers, researchers, students, and advocates dedicated to working together at the intersection between public health and social justice in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. This group originated in 2010 as a Health and Human Rights Learning Circle, was active during the Occupy movement as Occupy Public Health, and re-formed in fall 2014 response to the organizing happening in Ferguson and the Black Lives Matter movement. In 2017, reflecting our growth beyond the organizing related to the Occupy movement, we changed our name to the Public Health Justice Collective.
